A wall with gorgonian fans
Capt’n Gregg’s describes Odie’s Wall beginning around 25 m and sloping toward roughly 42 m, with large gorgonian sea fans, whip corals and reef fish. These are approximate operator references, not a surveyed boundary or a recent condition report.
Choose the route with the dive team
Atlantis independently names Odie’s Wall on its Puerto Galera site list, but that listing does not establish the same depth range or a particular route. Ask which part of the wall will be visited, the planned depth, the required training and the entry and pickup arrangements.
What this guide cannot confirm
The available descriptions do not establish current direction or strength, a reliable season, visibility, temperature or species encounter rates. They also do not support a general gas recommendation or imply that every visit requires the same decompression plan. Confirm those details for the intended dive rather than relying on a general site label.
How the wall has been described
Action Divers' site page, accessed in October 2026, says the wall is named after Udilon "Odie", a local fisherman turned dive boat captain who discovered it, and lists a 36 m maximum with a novice-and-above skill label. The same page describes huge gorgonian fans, black corals, giant clams and colourful barrel sponges sheltering red-tooth triggerfish, groupers, trumpetfish, angelfish, fusiliers, basslets, moray eels and banded sea snakes. PADI's dive-site entry, which shows no contributing member credit, describes a rocky wall sloping gently to about 42 m, covered with large gorgonian sea fans in colours from deep purple to bright orange, with very large black coral trees on top of the wall. It mentions red tooth triggerfish in small holes and cracks, nudibranchs, mantis shrimps, giant frogfish sitting on sponges, octopus, cuttlefish, schools of moorish idols and razor fish, and emperor angelfish only if you are lucky.
Depth figures do not agree
Capt'n Gregg's chart gives about 25 m to roughly 42 m at an advanced level, Action Divers lists 36 m, and La Laguna Beach Club lists a site it spells Oddies Dingding at 33 m. Dive Mindoro's guide, last modified in November 2025, describes Odies Dingding as an 8 m high wall off Manila Channel with a depth of 33 m, recommended for advanced divers with nitrox; whether its figure describes the top or the base of the wall is not stated. These numbers are presented as separate operator figures and are not reconciled here.
Route and planning notes from the sources
PADI's entry says that if the current is weak the dive can finish with a slow swim towards shore across a flat landscape with fire urchins and the occasional barrel sponge before reaching the shallower reefs, warns that it is a long swim, and calls the site an excellent dive on nitrox. Dive Mindoro's entry lists eels and blue triggerfish in the wall's holes, stingrays and tuna as common sightings, soft corals at the shallow end, thorny oysters and occasional manta rays. All of these are reported possibilities from undated operator pages rather than a sighting log, and the Action Divers novice label sits beside the advanced ratings on Capt'n Gregg's chart and in Dive Mindoro's guide, so the intended profile still needs confirming with the dive team.
