About This Dive Site
Twin Rocks in El Nido
Tabanka Divers and El Nido Paradise both describe a sloping reef at Twin Rocks. This guide concerns the El Nido listing; similarly named sites elsewhere are not evidence for it.
Depth disagreement
Their published ranges differ: Tabanka gives 5–35 m, while El Nido Paradise gives 5–40 m. The earlier single 25 m maximum is not established by these reviewed entries. The ranges are attributed route reports rather than a resolved survey boundary.
Plan the actual route
Tabanka notes that the dive can become a drift. Confirm the intended section, planned depth and current with the operator. A deeper published range is not a recommendation to visit that depth. Current strength, a universal minimum qualification and reliable encounter frequencies remain unverified.
The two formations
Tabanka links the site's name to two limestone outcrops rising from a sandy seabed. Its account describes channels around the formations and a combination of rock faces, sand and coral shelves. Soft corals, sponges and sea whips are reported on the rock, with small animals using the surrounding structure. This is the specific landscape described for the El Nido site; it should not be confused with another destination's Twin Rocks or treated as a mapped navigation route.
Wide views and small subjects
The same named section reports fusiliers, batfish and jacks around the formations, alongside nudibranchs and crustaceans among the growth on the rocks. That gives photographers two source-reported subjects to compare: fish around the outcrops and smaller life close to the reef. Sightings and clear water are not assured. Tabanka describes a different experience when current creates a drift, so its calmer-day account cannot be applied to every booking. Ask which part of the formations the planned dive covers rather than assuming a fixed circuit.
Why some operators call it Stingray Airport
Palawan Divers places Twin Rocks on Miniloc's northern side and uses the nickname Stingray Airport for its reported rays on the sandy bottom. Its prose describes a 13–21-metre slope, while the information table gives a broader 5–25-metre range. Those different scopes should not be mistaken for a surveyed replacement of the other operators' maximum reports.
A Travelationship visitor account describes entering at one part of Twin Rocks' reef and meeting the boat at a different exit point. The writers disclose complimentary dives from Palawan Divers. This is an attributed example of a point-to-point outing, not proof that every trip follows that route or finds rays.
