Reef · Drift · Drop-off

True to its name — "bahura" simply means reef — this sloping coral shoal off Caban Island's northwest tip is a classic Anilao drift. The reef starts shallow in hard-coral gardens, then slopes and steepens past 20 m toward a current-swept corner where the flow can switch from lazy to honking with the tide. Good visibility and dense fish life are the norm: turtles and the odd small reef shark over the slope, barracuda and other pelagics off the corner, and abundant nudibranchs and shrimp in the shallows for the macro-minded. Plan it as a drift and let the tide decide the route.
