About This Dive Site

A reef outing near Barracuda Lake

MDI Divers describes Twin Peaks as a reef and snorkeling area near the entrance to Barracuda Lake. Reggae Dive Center independently lists it as a coral reef near the lake. It offers a reef-focused outing in a destination often associated with wreck diving; confirm that the named reef is included in your itinerary.

An open-ended depth report

The Two Seasons Pawikan menu lists Twin Peaks Reef at 0–20+ m. The plus sign matters: it does not establish an exact maximum. The earlier 25 m value in this listing is not verified by that range and should not be used as a fixed planning limit.

Conditions need a current briefing

MDI describes both a snorkeling area and potentially strong current. A shallow area does not establish mild conditions throughout the reef. Confirm the intended entry, route and boat pickup with the operator running the outing.

Wildlife and remaining gaps

The sources describe reef fish and coral broadly, but do not establish dependable species encounters, present reef health or seasonal probabilities. This partial guide leaves precise depth limits, visibility, water temperature and certification suitability unresolved rather than presenting marketing descriptions as forecasts.

A reef beside the island's limestone scenery

MDI describes the surrounding Coron Island landscape as limestone karst, with prominent rock formations along the shore. That provides context for a reef outing beside the island. It does not establish a cave route, underwater passage or navigation point at Twin Peaks; the reef and a lake-entry visit should still be confirmed as separate itinerary items.

Read the operator's conditions carefully

The same account calls the site an easy outing but later says the current can become strong. Both statements belong to one page, so the promotional label cannot be used on its own to classify the conditions. The source does not give a tide table or dated measurements that would identify a dependable calm period.

What the wildlife wording supports

MDI mentions corals and schooling fish, but uses the nonspecific word “tortoises” for a possible nearby animal. That wording is not enough to assign a marine-turtle species or add a verified sighting. The reef description remains useful without converting ambiguous operator copy into a species record.

Another operator's terrain and wildlife account

Easy Diving's named Twin Peaks section describes two small islands surrounded by sloping coral gardens beside the Barracuda Lake entrance. It lists seahorses, frogfish, mandarinfish and crocodilefish among possible animals. These are undated operator reports, not new verified sightings or an encounter forecast.

The same section lists 2–25 m, visibility of 5–15 m and usually absent or small current. That adds an attributed depth range, not a survey proving the earlier 25 m scalar. Its calmer-current wording also differs from MDI's warning that current can become strong. Neither account supplies the dated measurements needed to resolve conditions for a particular visit, so the source disagreement remains visible.
