Maracaibo Deep is renowned for its impressive underwater topography. The dive begins with a descent onto a sand and rubble terrace that leads to a steep wall. Divers will be carried along by the powerful current, revealing a sheer cliff face that plummets into the abyss. A truly memorable feature is the site's signature arch, a massive semicircle found at about 35 m (115 ft) deep. Divers can often swim through this impressive formation, which is nestled into the wall after passing through a large descending crevice.
