Rudy's Rock

About This Dive Site
A southwest Balicasag drop-off
Philippine Fun Divers places Rudy’s Rock on the southwest side of Balicasag, describing a wall with corals, small caverns and crevices. Seaquest also describes the drop-off and crevice features. These are descriptions of terrain, not instructions to enter overhead spaces.
Two different depth ranges
Philippine Fun Divers lists 3–45 m, while Seaquest gives 3–35 m. Neither reviewed account establishes the previous 40 m maximum as a settled figure; the old 20 m average is unverified too. The published ranges need to remain attributed to their operators.
Keep nearby sites distinct
Philippine Fun Divers uses a low-tide rock as a landmark here, but repeats similar wording on its Rico’s Wall page. That repetition is not evidence that the two sites are identical. Confirm the specific entry and route when booking, and treat descriptions of fish schools as operator observations rather than a guarantee.

Coral scenery and schooling fish
Philippine Fun Divers describes soft and hard corals on the drop-off, with small caverns and crevices breaking up the wall. Its account reports schooling jacks, midnight snappers and sweetlips. Seaquest likewise describes jacks and coral, and adds large turtles to its account. These are general operator descriptions without dates for the encounters. They offer subjects to discuss with a guide, while leaving open what will actually be visible during a particular dive.
Parts of the Fun Divers text are very similar to its Rico’s Wall description, including the fish schools and landmark. That overlap is not independent evidence of a single shared site. The useful distinction remains the operator’s named route: its Rudy’s Rock page describes alternatives toward the Black Forest exit area or toward Rico’s Wall. It does not establish that every trip crosses those neighbouring areas, or that one can navigate between them using this guide.
A wall visit need not follow the deepest range
The Fun Divers table identifies around 15 m as the most interesting depth for its outing, separate from its 3–45 m published range. It also advertises snorkeling, which should be understood as a shallow-water activity rather than access to every feature on the drop-off. Its Alona Beach transfer example is about 31 minutes by banca over roughly 11.5 km. Visibility is quoted as 12–20 m by Fun Divers and 10–40 m by Seaquest. These general ranges are not a daily forecast; together with the different depth ranges, they make the specific operator and intended portion of the wall important when comparing trips.
