Black Forest (Balicasag Island)

A sheer wall on the W rim of Balicasag Island sanctuary, named after the dense forest of black coral (Antipathidae) and large crinoid sea-lilies festooning the slope below 30 m. The shallow reef top buzzes with schooling jacks and turtle traffic over Acropora gardens; advanced divers descend into the namesake grove and along the wall toward Cathedral and Diver’s Heaven, both within drift-range. 150-diver/day cap is enforced via the Panglao LGU.
