Morazan and the historical Olympia name

The Two Seasons Pawikan menu lists Morazan Maru as formerly Olympia while retaining a separate current Olympia entry. Sangat Island Dive Resort also describes Morazan as a wreck previously misidentified as Olympia. Keep that historical naming context attached to the claim rather than treating the two present listings as duplicates.

Reported depths differ

Pawikan and Pirates Diving Resort list a 25 m maximum, while Sangat gives 26 m. The maximum is marked disputed. Pirates reports an average of about 15 m; this does not support the earlier 20 m average in this listing. An average from an operator account is not a planned depth for every visit.

Before booking

Confirm that the itinerary refers to the current Morazan wreck and ask which exterior areas will be visited. Older names and different operator measurements can otherwise make two descriptions appear to refer to the same route when that has not been established.

Remaining gaps

This partial guide does not settle the vessel's complete ownership history or conflicting dimensions in published accounts. It also does not establish current structural condition, visibility or wildlife frequency. Confirm the intended profile and required experience with the operator; descriptions of compartments do not establish suitability for entry.

A coral-covered hull

Sangat describes hard coral on the port side and reports groupers, sweetlips, sea snakes and turtles around the wreck. Its 14–18 m measurement refers to the port side of the hull, rather than a whole-site maximum. These are operator descriptions without a dated wildlife census; neither the animal list nor the shallower hull section establishes what a particular outing will encounter.

A dated model and another name

Dive3D presents a model under Ekkai (Morazan), describes the wreck resting on its starboard side and dates the author's scan to 3 October 2025. The model offers another way to understand the hull's shape. It is a record of that visit, not an assessment of present access or structural stability.

Dimensions need their own source check

Sangat's Morazan text calls this a 120 m site while its table lists 140 m. That disagreement within one page is not resolved here. Keep the dimensions attached to the source rather than using either figure to identify an unfamiliar wreck or estimate how much of it a dive will cover.

Machinery described in the wreck

Rocksteady’s October 2019 site account describes two boilers remaining after removal of the steam engine, and daylight reaching that area through a salvage opening. These features add context to the vessel’s machinery spaces. They are historical operator descriptions, not a present inspection or an invitation to enter an overhead compartment.
