Cervera Shoal is a submerged sandy plateau marooned in open water roughly 9 km southeast of Alona, midway to Pamilacan. Local divemasters call it Snake Island for its resident colony of black-and-white banded sea kraits, which divers reliably encounter hunting through the rubble and resting in crevices, though numbers vary with season and rainfall. The plateau tops out around 9-15 m, richest in the shallows, before sloping off into deeper water beyond recreational limits. Moray eels, nudibranchs, feather stars, bucket sponges and reef fish round out the cast. A strong surface current that eases with depth makes this a fast, exposed drift for experienced divers comfortable descending into blue water without a reference.
